70 Years Not Out

On the 7th November 2005, another member of the Lodge celebrated reaching a very important milestone in his Masonic career.
Bro. Robert Muir, at 94 years of age, is not only the oldest living member of Lodge Polkemmet but also the longest serving member, came along to the regular meeting to receive his Platinum certificate for SEVENTY YEARS service to the Craft.

The temple was bulging with 105 Brethren and the RWM Bro. Tom Gray asked the RWSGM Bro. Walter Sneddon if he would be so kind as to say a few words, after making very fitting reference to Bro. Muirs long career the RWM and RWSGM then presented him with his Platinum certificate.
Bro. Muir intimated that he thoroughly enjoyed coming along to the lodge but health precluded him from attending as often as he would like, however he thanked the Brethren for the presentation.

The RWM, Past masters, Office bearers and Brethren would like to congratulate Bro. Robert Muir in his achievement and wish him well.

On the same evening we welcomed our newest member into the Lodge in the person of Bro. Fred Winters RWM Lodge Blackridge no.1145, who accepted honorary membership of the Lodge. Fred coincidentally is to celebrate his 70th birthday in 2006.
Congratulations Fred, and welcome.
